This is a great little camera, especially for the price. You can also setup the sensitivity of your motion by doing so you can cut down on false alerts being sent to your cell phone. It also has two-way audio so you can talk and listen to the room being monitored, i had to turn the mic sensitivity down because i was picking up the noise from the motors moving the camera around, but by turning the sensitivity down it worked great. The night view worked great and when real dark the camera switches to an accurate black and white display. If stolen you would still have access to your videos. The cloud worked great, awesome being able to have your videos being saved and not worrying about the camera being stolen. I selected a cloud plan which saves for seven days and the starts recording over. It has the ability to save videos to an onboard sd card up to 128gig or save to the cloud with three different affordable plains. It also has the ability to move around room with app and see almost all the area being monitored.
#WANSVIEW APP INSTRUCTIONS UPGRADE#
I purchased the wansview q5 to upgrade my wansview k2 and was pleasantly surprised. 2) viewing images and videos is restricted to vertical viewing vs horizontal with the auto rotate on my phone. 1) i wish this camera had a feature for audio detection.
night vision i think is the best i’ve seen so far images are clean and crisp. the audio on this little guy is excellent which is a must for me.
comes with hardware for mounting to get the perfect view. set up took just about 8 mins which is a breeze compared to my other cameras. Images and videos are very clear for a wide angle lenses. I love the feature of being able rotate and tilt my view. Wansview q5 cloud camerai was surpirsed on the quality for this camera based on the price. The only problems i’ve encountered are 1) it seems the motion-sensitivity adjuster isn’t working in the current version of the app. I use this in my kid’s room to quickly jump between viewing the bed & play area. I like that in the app you set ‘favorite positions’, which when clicked automatically moves your camera to the pre-set pan/tilt/zoom setting. Pan/tilt/zoom function works as expected, it’s reasonably smooth and quiet. These 10s clips are stored in ‘the cloud’ and viewable from the app anywhere/anytime.
There is an optional monthly service fee you can pay to get 24/7 recording, but i don’t find it necessary because the camera records 10s video clips each time motion is detected. Name the camera via the app and you are all set. Setup is easy – plug the camera in and use the app to send your wi-fi credentials to the camera. This pan/tilt/zoom camera performs as well as the ‘big name brand’ cameras i own that retail for $120+.
